Responsibilities

  • Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, verify demographic and insurance information, and escort them to exam rooms to ensure a seamless patient experience.
  • Clinical Support: Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with patient examinations, taking vital signs, and recording patient histories accurately.
  • Procedural Assistance: Perform basic laboratory tests, including phlebotomy, EKGs, and spirometry, following strict safety protocols.
  • Administrative Duties: Manage patient charts electronically, schedule appointments, handle phone inquiries, and prepare medical records for visits.
  • Medication Management: Assist in the preparation and administration of medications under direct supervision, ensuring proper documentation.

  • Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and clinic policies to maintain patient confidentiality and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant), or NCMA certification is required. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is mandatory.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is highly desirable.
