Responsibilities
- Greet patients and verify insurance information upon arrival.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with draping and positioning.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urinalysis and blood draws.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) and ensure patient data is accurate and confidential.
- Administer medications as directed by the provider and monitor for adverse reactions.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification required.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical setting is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
