Responsibilities
- Accurately measure and record patient vitals, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist physicians and nursing staff with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments during the night shift.
- Perform venipuncture and administer injections or medications as authorized by a licensed provider.
- Prepare and sterilize medical instruments and examination rooms to ensure infection control protocols are met.
- Manage patient intake, update electronic health records (EHR), and verify insurance coverage information.
- Monitor patient comfort and response to treatments, escalating critical issues immediately to the charge nurse.
- Provide compassionate patient education and support to individuals and families.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification from an accredited institution.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting.
- Proven ability to work independently and effectively during night shift hours.
- Strong attention to detail and proficiency in electronic health record systems (Epic, Cerner, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first mindset.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
