Responsibilities
- Perform clinical duties including vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and medication administration
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor procedures
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Prepare exam rooms and sterilize equipment according to OSHA standards
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Coordinate laboratory orders and results with laboratory staff
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment
- Support triage functions for urgent patient concerns
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory or hospital setting
- BLS/CPR certification (AHA preferred)
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic/EMR experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient volumes and priorities
