Responsibilities
- Patient Intake & Vitals: Greet patients, verify insurance information, and accurately measure vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate).
- Assist Providers: Prepare patients for examinations, assist physicians and nurse practitioners during procedures, and ensure patient comfort.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient charts, update electronic health records (EHR), and handle appointment scheduling and confirmations.
- Clinical Procedures: Assist with basic clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and wound care preparation under supervision.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock examination rooms, medical supplies, and equipment to ensure readiness.
- Customer Service: Answer patient inquiries professionally and maintain a clean, welcoming environment.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience: No prior experience required. We are looking for candidates eager to learn.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA compliant).
- Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy and ability to learn electronic health record software quickly.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform light physical assistance when needed.
- Soft Skills: A compassionate, patient-oriented attitude and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
