Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with patient examinations and procedures.
- Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) accurately.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary medical instruments and supplies.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as EKGs, urinalysis, and blood draws.
- Administer medications and injections under the supervision of a licensed provider.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including insurance verification.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR).
- Provide patient education and answer routine healthcare questions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant Certification is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong desire to learn and work in a clinical setting.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, empathetic demeanor.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift patients or equipment safely.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with EHR systems.
- Reliable transportation and valid photo ID.
