Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations, taking vital signs, and recording medical histories accurately.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, schedule appointments, and maintain electronic health records (EHR).
- Laboratory Support: Perform basic laboratory tests, prepare specimens, and adhere to strict hygiene and safety protocols.
- Phlebotomy: Draw blood samples for diagnostic testing and ensure proper sample handling and labeling.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients and medical staff, answering questions and explaining procedures clearly.
- Infection Control: Strictly follow hospital sanitation policies to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant Certification preferred but not mandatory for this entry-level role.
- Experience: No prior clinical experience required; however, a strong desire to learn is essential.
- Skills: Basic computer literacy and familiarity with medical terminology is a plus.
- Personality: Compassionate, detail-oriented, and able to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
- License: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire.
