Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories accurately
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures including wound care, EKGs, and specimen collection
- Administer injections and medications as directed by healthcare providers
- Maintain electronic health records (EHR) with precision and confidentiality
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate referrals efficiently
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment in clinical areas
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care measures
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a hospital or multi-specialty setting
- Current BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical terminology
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to build patient rapport
- Ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced medical environments
- Pennsylvania Medical Assistant license (if applicable)
