Responsibilities
- Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, height, weight, and temperature.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments and supplies; sterilize equipment after use.
- Assist providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, point-of-care testing, and EKGs as required.
- Manage patient intake, verify insurance information, and update electronic health records (EHR) efficiently.
- Administer injections, immunizations, and medications under the direct supervision of a licensed provider.
- Handle patient inquiries with professionalism and maintain strict HIPAA compliance.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not required for qualified candidates.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first mindset.
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems (Epic, Athenahealth, etc.).
