Responsibilities

  • Patient Preparation: Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments and supplies to ensure a smooth workflow for providers.
  • Vital Signs & Assessment: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
  • Assistance: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures as directed.
  • Administrative Duties: Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, verify insurance information, and update electronic health records (EHR) with precision.
  • Phlebotomy & Lab: Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures in accordance with established safety protocols.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate test results and treatment plans to patients and their families in a clear, empathetic manner.

Qualifications

  • Certification: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program and possession of a current CMA, RMA, or MA certification.
  • License: Current Michigan State Medical Assistant license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical setting preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and medical practice software.
