Responsibilities
- Submit and follow up on insurance claims to maximize reimbursement
- Review EOBs to identify underpayments or denials
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits before service delivery
- Resolve billing discrepancies through insurance and patient communication
- Maintain accurate patient accounts and documentation
- Stay updated on HIPAA, CMS, and insurance policy changes
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure charge accuracy
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certification in medical coding (CPC, COC, or CCS preferred)
- Proficiency in Epic, Medisoft, or similar billing systems
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle sensitive PHI with strict confidentiality
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field
