Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers)
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits before service delivery
- Code medical services using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS standards
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies through appeals and follow-up
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance and collection metrics
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure documentation accuracy
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth, Medisoft)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and reimbursement methodologies
- Exceptional attention to detail and data entry accuracy
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
