Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility, benefits, and coverage details
- Investigate and resolve claim denials and underpayments
- Maintain accurate patient records and billing documentation
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and industry coding standards (ICD-10, CPT)
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance representatives
- Utilize EHR systems (Epic/Cerner preferred) for billing operations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical coding and billing software (e.g., Medisoft, NextGen)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, CMS, and insurance claim processes
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently with flexible scheduling
