Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance providers with 95%+ accuracy
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits for insurance coverage
- Resolve claim denials and rejections through appeals and documentation
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, ICD-10, and CPT coding standards
- Maintain detailed electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify coding ambiguities
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience with insurance claims
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or NextGen)
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with insurance claim resolution and denial management
- Ability to work independently while meeting weekly deadlines
