Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and patient comfort focus
- Process and analyze specimens using advanced laboratory equipment
- Maintain HIPAA compliance protocols for sample handling and documentation
- Train junior phlebotomists on advanced techniques and safety protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and lab specialists on specimen collection optimization
- Implement quality control measures for collection accuracy and contamination prevention
Qualifications
- 3+ years of clinical phlebotomy experience in acute care settings
- Certification from ASCP, AMT, or equivalent nationally recognized body
- Expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult-access collections
- Advanced knowledge of OSHA bloodborne pathogen standards
- Proven ability to maintain specimen integrity during high-volume processing
- Experience with LIS/HIS systems and electronic documentation
