Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, ensuring all equipment and instruments are sterile and ready for use.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Handle and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to strict safety protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff or surgeon immediately.
- Ensure proper documentation of surgical procedures and patient care records.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow in the operating room.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Technologist in Training (CST-T) credential required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an acute care or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical anatomy.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
