Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate medical claims to insurance providers
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits eligibility
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on claim denials
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare billing regulations
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding billing inquiries
- Utilize billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner) for claim submissions
- Analyze denial trends and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve billing discrepancies
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certification (CPC, COB, or equivalent) preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software and EMR systems
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with flexible scheduling
- Effective communication and customer service abilities
