Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA and CLIA regulations
- Maintain accurate patient records and electronic documentation systems
- Operate and calibrate laboratory equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Implement strict infection control protocols and safety procedures
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation procedures
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless specimen workflow
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in hospital or diagnostic lab setting
- Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture and microcollection techniques
- Strong knowledge of OSHA bloodborne pathogen standards
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work independently in high-volume environments
- Valid CPR/BLS certification
- Successful background check and drug screening
