Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery
- Manage denial resolution through systematic appeals and documentation
- Reconcile accounts receivable reports and resolve discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer-specific regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to clarify coding documentation
- Utilize billing software (Epic/Cerner) for claim submission and tracking
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or certificate in medical billing/coding (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) certification preferred
- Experience with electronic health records and billing software
