Responsibilities
- Review and code medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Submit electronic claims to insurance payers and government programs
- Resolve claim denials through appeals and documentation verification
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality protocols
- Analyze aging reports and follow up on outstanding receivables
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate documentation
- Utilize Epic EHR and Medisoft billing systems for daily operations
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in a clinical setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in medical coding and billing software (Epic, Medisoft)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication abilities for patient and provider interactions
