Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking pharmaceutical supplies
- Process insurance claims and verify patient coverage for prescription services
- Maintain precise medication records and ensure HIPAA compliance in all transactions
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
- Collaborate with pharmacists to optimize workflow and medication safety protocols
- Assist with sterile compounding when required by state regulations
Qualifications
- Active Colorado Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year of retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of prescription processing and medication safety
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a high-volume setting
- Proficient in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1)
- Effective communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
