Responsibilities
- Review and process medical claims with precision using Epic and Cerner systems
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for patients across 15+ carriers
- Resolve claim denials and appeals within 48-hour SLA
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and Wisconsin state regulations
- Generate monthly revenue reports for departmental leadership
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document services accurately
- Train staff on coding updates and billing best practices
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with CPT/ICD-10 coding
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC-A credential required
- Proficiency in Epic EMR and claim scrubbing software
- Strong knowledge of Wisconsin Medicaid and Medicare guidelines
- Exceptional analytical skills for complex claim resolution
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management preferred
- Experience with UB-04 and 1500 claim forms
