Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Submit electronic claims to insurance payers and track reimbursement status
- Resolve billing discrepancies through denial management and appeals processes
- Conduct insurance verification and pre-authorization procedures
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing best practices
- Analyze aging reports and implement collection strategies
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate documentation
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in ambulatory care setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential required
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR systems
- Expert knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and commercial insurance regulations
- Strong analytical skills for complex claim resolution
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience with patient billing and collections processes
