Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS systems
- Submit clean claims to insurance payers and follow up on outstanding accounts
- Resolve claim denials and appeals through effective communication with providers/payers
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid regulations
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance and AR metrics
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation accuracy
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR systems
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and payer guidelines
- Exceptional attention to detail with 98% claim accuracy
- Excellent communication skills for patient/provider interactions
- Ability to work independently with flexible scheduling
