Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Manage patient accounts and resolve billing discrepancies through direct communication
- Analyze EOBs to identify underpayments and coordinate appeals processes
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing documentation standards
- Utilize Epic and NextGen EHR systems for efficient claim processing
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure charge capture accuracy
- Generate monthly reports on denial rates and collection performance
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient or physician practice settings
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) credential
- Proficiency in medical coding software (e.g., EncoderPro, CodeLink)
- Strong understanding of insurance claim processes and payer requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail with numerical accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with EHR systems and electronic claim submission
