Responsibilities
- Verify and submit medical claims to insurance carriers (CMS-1500).
- Review patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services.
- Follow up on denied or unpaid claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in our EMR system.
- Communicate with patients regarding outstanding balances and payment plans.
- Reconcile daily bank deposits and ensure 100% accuracy in financial reporting.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Billing preferred.
- CPC or COC certification is a strong plus.
- 1-3 years of experience in medical billing and coding.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
