Responsibilities
- Accurately verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to rendering services.
- Submit clean claims to clearinghouses (e.g., Change Healthcare, DynaMed) and follow up on pending remittance advice.
- Research and resolve denied claims or underpayments efficiently to maximize revenue.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and facilitate payment plans when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and billing documentation.
- Stay current with changing healthcare regulations, ICD-10, and CPT coding guidelines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration preferred.
- CPC, CPC-H, or RHIT certification is highly desired.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management.
- Proficient in medical billing software (Epic, Cerner, or AthenaHealth) and MS Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of the revenue cycle process, including claims scrubbing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service.
