Responsibilities
- Review and code medical diagnoses/procedures using ICD-10 and CPT systems
- Submit accurate electronic claims to insurance payers and government programs
- Follow up on denied/incomplete claims with corrective resubmissions
- Manage patient billing inquiries and payment arrangements
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient and financial records
- Analyze aging reports and resolve billing discrepancies
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure documentation accuracy
Qualifications
- High school diploma with 2+ years medical billing experience
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Medisoft)
- Expert knowledge of insurance claim processes
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
