Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Submit electronic claims to insurance payers and track reimbursement status
- Resolve billing discrepancies and patient account inquiries
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare billing regulations
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance and AR metrics
- Collaborate with clinical teams to verify documentation completeness
- Manage denial appeals and follow-up on unpaid claims
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certification (CPC, CCS, or similar) preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Medisoft)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred
