Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS standards
- Verify insurance coverage and patient eligibility prior to service
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on denied/pending claims
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Generate monthly reports for revenue cycle analysis
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve billing discrepancies
- Utilize Epic EHR and NextGen billing systems daily
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical coding and insurance claim processes
- Strong knowledge of Alaska Medicaid and Medicare guidelines
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and billing software
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
