Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and submit medical claims to insurance carriers (CMS-1500 and electronic).
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and gather necessary documentation prior to service.
- Review and resolve denied or rejected claims to ensure maximum reimbursement.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve billing discrepancies professionally.
- Update patient records and maintain accurate documentation in the EHR system.
- Analyze monthly reports to identify trends in denials and payment posting.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or a related field.
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with medical billing software (Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet monthly billing targets.
- Valid for employment in the United States.
