Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits before service rendering
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies through follow-up
- Maintain accurate patient records and billing documentation
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to clarify coding ambiguities
- Generate monthly revenue reports for financial analysis
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in Epic, Athenahealth, or NextGen billing systems
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and meet productivity targets
- Experience with electronic claim submission (837/835)
