Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims to insurance companies using ICD-10 and CPT guidelines
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service rendering
- Manage accounts receivable through timely follow-up on unpaid claims
- Resolve billing discrepancies and denials through effective communication with payers
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing standards
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure complete and accurate documentation
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certification (CPC, CCS, or similar) preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Medisoft)
