Responsibilities
- Review medical records and patient demographics to ensure accuracy before billing.
- Submit claims to insurance carriers (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial) using electronic systems.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and appeal denied services to maximize revenue.
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing statements and insurance coverage.
- Code diagnoses and procedures accurately using ICD-10 and CPT coding standards.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA) and internal policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred but not required).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
