Responsibilities
- Front Desk Operations: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and manage the check-in and check-out process efficiently.
- Scheduling: Schedule patient appointments via phone and EMR systems, ensuring optimal provider utilization.
- Communication: Answer incoming calls, redirect inquiries, and provide accurate medical information or route to the appropriate staff member.
- Administrative Support: Maintain accurate patient records, update demographic information, and process referrals accurately.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock office supplies, exam rooms, and medical equipment as needed.
- Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient data.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Administration preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical front desk or administrative role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- Certifications: Medical Terminology knowledge and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are a plus.
