Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment prior to procedures.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Monitor and maintain sterile field during surgical procedures.
- Assist with pre-operative and post-operative patient care, including positioning and draping.
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and ensure adequate stock levels.
- Document patient information and surgical procedures accurately.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control regulations.
Qualifications
- Current Certification as a Surgical Technician (CST) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a surgical setting preferred.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift equipment as required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
