Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Verify patient identity and ensure accuracy of all medical records and labels.
- Properly label, store, and transport biological specimens to the laboratory.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized work environment in strict compliance with OSHA standards.
- Assist with patient check-in processes and answer basic inquiries regarding procedures.
- Handle sensitive patient information with strict adherence to HIPAA privacy regulations.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current California State Phlebotomy License.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and infection control protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to put patients at ease.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
