Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, managing check-in, check-out, and registration processes with efficiency and accuracy.
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly, screen messages, and route inquiries to the appropriate medical staff or departments.
- Schedule patient appointments using the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, ensuring all details are accurately documented.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and explain financial responsibilities regarding services prior to the appointment.
- Maintain the front desk area, manage patient files, and ensure all administrative paperwork is organized and filed correctly.
- Assist with front-office duties including faxing, scanning, mail sorting, and data entry to support the clinical team.
- Handle patient inquiries regarding clinic hours, location, and services with patience and a customer-first attitude.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Healthcare Administration is a plus.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical front desk, administrative, or customer service role preferred.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems (e.g., Epic, NextGen, AthenaHealth) is highly desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification procedures, and HIPAA compliance regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining a calm and friendly demeanor.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
