Responsibilities
- Greet and Welcome Patients: Provide a warm and professional welcome to all visitors and patients, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued.
- Scheduling Management: Manage patient appointments efficiently using our scheduling software, including rescheduling and cancellations.
- Front Desk Operations: Answer incoming calls, route them to the appropriate department, and take accurate messages.
- Insurance Verification: Assist patients with insurance verification and pre-authorization processes to ensure seamless service.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, charts, and administrative documents in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Payment Processing: Collect copayments and process payments accurately using our Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Customer Support: Address patient inquiries regarding hours, services, and billing in a polite and helpful manner.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; certification in Medical Reception or Front Office Administration is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in a medical front desk or reception role preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on empathy and professionalism.
- Organization: Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Interpersonal: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and interact positively with patients of all backgrounds.
- Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends as needed.
