Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk reception area with efficiency and professionalism.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using the EMR system while minimizing wait times.
- Verify patient insurance information, process new patient registration, and ensure accurate data entry.
- Answer incoming calls, route messages promptly, and handle patient inquiries with a solutions-oriented approach.
- Assist with medical billing collections and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area and medical records.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure a seamless patient flow throughout the day.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required; completion of a Medical Receptionist program is a plus.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience in a medical front desk or administrative role.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with patients of all backgrounds.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or occasional evenings as needed.
