Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments with precision and documentation accuracy
- Coordinate care transitions and collaborate with on-call physicians
- Maintain critical monitoring of patient conditions during overnight hours
- Provide patient/family education and emotional support
- Ensure compliance with JCAHO and hospital safety protocols
- Mentor new staff and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Kentucky (or compact state)
- BSN degree preferred (ADN with 2+ years experience considered)
- Minimum 1 year acute care nursing experience
- ACLS/BLS certification required (PALS preferred)
- Demonstrated critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Electronic health record proficiency (EPIC experience preferred)
- Ability to work independently with strong clinical judgment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient volumes overnight
