Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and grooming with dignity and respect.
- Monitor Health: Accurately measure and record vital signs, weight, and other health metrics as directed by the nursing staff.
- Assist with Mobility: Safely transfer and assist residents in and out of beds, wheelchairs, and vehicles using proper body mechanics.
- Emotional Support: Build meaningful relationships with residents, offering companionship and emotional support to enhance their quality of life.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient care records in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate: Communicate effectively with the nursing team, physicians, and families regarding patient conditions and needs.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, unencumbered Texas CNA License.
- Training: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Prior experience in long-term care or home health is preferred but not required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion: A genuine passion for helping others and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, to meet patient needs.
