Responsibilities
- Prepare Patients: Greet patients, verify insurance information, and prepare them for examination by the provider.
- Vital Signs & Exams: Accurately measure vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature) and assist providers during physical exams.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain patient records, schedule appointments, and process medical billing and coding tasks.
- Phlebotomy & Lab Work: Collect blood samples and perform basic laboratory tests as directed.
- Patient Education: Provide health education materials and answer basic questions regarding medications and treatments.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock exam rooms and medical supplies to ensure readiness.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a Medical Assistant program is a plus but not mandatory.
- Certification: CMA or RMA certification preferred for candidates with experience; open to enthusiastic candidates without certification who are willing to pursue it.
- Skills: Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and perform fine motor skills.
- License: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon employment.
