Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment, arranging sterile instruments, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, holding retractors, and maintaining sterile fields
- Manage surgical equipment and supplies, including inventory control and sterilization processes
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, JCAHO, and hospital safety protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care surgical setting
- Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program
- BLS/CPR certification
- Expertise in sterile processing and aseptic technique
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
