Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensure sterile field maintenance and proper aseptic technique during procedures.
- Assist surgeons with patient positioning, draping, and wound prep.
- Pass instruments and sponges to surgeons during operations, counting sponges and needles to ensure zero loss.
- Handle specimens accurately and assist with patient transport to recovery.
- Monitor and troubleshoot equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Document patient data and maintain accurate surgical logs.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with surgical experience.
- Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, instruments, and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist with patient lifting.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to safety protocols.
