Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene to ensure they remain clean and comfortable.
- Medication Management: Provide timely reminders for medication and assist with medication administration according to physician orders.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious, individualized meals that meet dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, changing linens, and tidying living areas to maintain a safe environment.
- Companionship: Engage in conversation and activities to provide emotional support and reduce isolation for clients.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Observe client physical and mental condition and promptly report any changes or concerns to the registered nurse or case manager.
- Transportation: Drive clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or social activities as required.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
- Certification: Current state certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) is strongly preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in home care, geriatric care, or personal assistance is a plus.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are mandatory for this position.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients as needed; good physical stamina.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on empathy and patience.
