Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations and procedures
- Perform clinical tasks including vital signs, EKGs, and phlebotomy
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and medical equipment
- Manage patient flow and ensure efficient clinic operations
- Update and maintain electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Administer medications and injections as directed
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Handle insurance verification and billing documentation
Qualifications
- Graduate from accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Michigan Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic experience a plus)
- Strong interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient confidentiality
