Responsibilities
- Patient Intake & Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, and weight during every visit.
- Phlebotomy & Lab Work: Perform blood draws and process laboratory specimens according to strict protocols and safety standards.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, update Electronic Health Records (EHR) with accurate information, and prepare charts for providers.
- Provider Assistance: Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations, sterilize instruments, and prepare treatment rooms for new patients.
- Medication Management: Prepare and administer medications as directed by the provider, ensuring patient safety and documentation is complete.
- Customer Service: Address patient inquiries professionally, ensure patient comfort, and maintain a clean, organized clinic environment.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, or MA) is required.
- Certification: Current state certification or registration (e.g., AAMA, AMT, NCMA) is preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting is preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and medical terminology.
