Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, verifying insurance and demographic information accurately.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers with patient examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
- Record vital signs, medical histories, and patient information into Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, including phlebotomy, urinalysis, and EKGs.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and referrals to specialists.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) from an accredited institution is required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification must be maintained.
- 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
- Proficient in computer systems and Electronic Health Records (EHR) software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends or evening shifts.
