Responsibilities
- Accurately code diagnoses and procedures using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS guidelines
- Submit electronic claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Follow up on claim denials and resolve billing discrepancies
- Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in all documentation
- Analyze aging reports and prioritize collection activities
- Collaborate with clinical staff to verify insurance eligibility
- Generate monthly billing reports for financial review
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient or ambulatory settings
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR systems
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and commercial insurance regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail with 10-key proficiency
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
